Efficient Technologies of BMW's Car

BMW Efficient Dynamics is about using resources intelligently to deliver pure BMW dynamism whilst looking after the environment.

Discover the BMW Efficient Dynamics below :-

High Precision Injection.

It is about petrol engines that can do more with less energy and lower emissions. Petrol engines with High Precision Injection come with Piezo Injectors, positioned centrally between the valves and the spark plug so he fuel injected is utilised economically and precisely to optimize the combustion process. Petrol engines where two turbochargers, each with remarkably compact turbine geometry, are used simultaneously so the response is instant – the moment your foot touches the accelerator.

What this means to you:
BMW cars are as dynamic as ever, but now, they are more fuel-efficient than ever before.

Lightweight Construction.

It is about getting rid of excess baggage and travelling light. Where our engineers innovatively utilize aluminium in the chassis while offering more rigidity. And a magnesium/aluminium alloy engine crankcase to bring down the weight by 24%. This results in a reduced load on the front axles, decreased fuel consumption and contributes to a near 50:50 weight distribution that help deliver outstanding driving dynamics.

What this means to you:
We’ve made our cars lighter, so you can save on fuel.

Aerodynamic design.

It is about design that reduce drag and increase fuel efficiency. Where the air flows smoothly around the chassis and the underbody is covered so there is less air resistance resulting in increased vehicle stability at higher speeds, and reduced fuel consumption.

What this means to you:
BMW cars are designed not just to look sporty, but to also help you move faster.

Electric Power Steering.

It is about using power only when it is needed. Where steering is supported by an electronic motor and unlike conventional hydraulic systems, energy is only consumed during the actual steering process. When the steering wheel is held in a single position such as on a straight road or a constant bend, the motor is inactive and therefore consumes no energy.

What this means to you:
The Electric Power Steering uses energy only when needed, saving you power and fuel.

Brake Energy Regeneration.

It is about producing energy simply by slowing down. The alternator used to generate electrical energy is constantly powered by the engine, thus consuming more fuel. Brake Energy Regeneration uses the spare kinetic energy instead, generated when the driver releases the accelerator or brakes. The battery is charged using this momentum. The result – a boost in performance, and a noticeable reduction in consumption. The very essence of BMW Efficient Dynamics.

What this means to you:
Braking can keep you moving, and helps you recharge lost energy.

There are only a few information that I can share about BMW's efficient technology.
